Independent TimeKeepers Organization
The Independent TimeKeepers Organization was formed to lobby for the right to stay on DayLight Savings Time. Why should we keep changing the clocks? Isn't the need for a twice a year time change beyond us? Haven't we progressed beyond the need to carry on a tradition that has no relevance to our society? We are a nation of over achievers, why should we have to stop and change the clock? What are we saving the hour of daylight for? In case it gets dark? Here's a news flash, Sporto. Somebody named Con Edison had a bright idea one day and invented the light bulb. Then he heard a voice that said "Let their be light." So he invented a lamp and an electric socket in which to plug his lamp. "What if there is a power outage?" Oh, don't be such a whinner. After Con invented the light bulb and heard the voice that said "Let their be light", he heard another voice that said "Alternate Power." So his cousin Ray O. Vac invented a light powered by an independent means. When he turned the independently powered light on, he saw such a flash of light he named it just that and found it useful on those days that Con overslept and didn't flip the switch on time.
What was Daylight Saving time for? So the farmers could work in the fields longer? Well, it worked. The farmers spent so much time working the fields, they worked themselves to death. That’s why the American Farm is dying. Most of the Farmers are dead. Let's have a millenium of Daylight Savings Time to honor our brave farm people who worked so hard so that we may eat. The American Farmer was taken for granted for a lot of years. A tribute to them is long over-due.
"What can I, as an individual do?" I'm glad you asked!
Write to your Congressman today and tell him or her "No More Time Change! We have suffered enough! I've lost the directions to setting my watch and I can't reset my time again."
"What can we, as a group, do?" I am so glad you asked!
Become a "Daylighter" and start a chapter in your very own neighborhood. Get all your neighbors involved. Say it loud - say it proud "I'm a daylighter and darn proud of it!"
"What should I do when the time change comes around again?" I am so glad you asked!
Refuse to change your time. Stay on daylight savings time year round. Do not acknowledge Standard Time anymore. Stick to your regular time schedule. If your boss tells you that you are one hour late/early, tell him/her "No way. I'm a DayLighter and I'm right on time, Jack." Tell your boss that a few times and he/she will finally get the message. At the watercooler, you may over hear your boss say to the others "That DayLighter may be on to something. I think I'll try his/her time mode." Before you know it, you have started a trend.
Be the first on your block to Say no to the time change
